Realtors are you Progressive or ProAgressive?
In 1995 I grabbed a VHS shoulder mount camera, without my grandpa's permission I might add and I shot my first real estate video tour in Los Angeles, California. I do not even have the VHS tape it went on, as it was given to the realtor who sent to the east coast for a client who wanted a more walk-through-the-property feel, and wasn't able to get on a plane to come see it. I don't even know if the guy ended up buying the property, but what I do remember is that 3 people changed the industry as we know it.
My story leads me to my title. Progressive is a slow inconvenient pace. It's like the Titanic turning radius. It progressively turned but unfortunately not in time. ProAgressive is my vernacular for a "go getter."
There are realtors who just go with the flow, then there are realtors that use their creatively to harness their industry. The 3 people who changed this industry were 1) The Buyer, 2) The Broker & 3) The Videographer
The buyer saw a problem. He couldn't go see the property. So without help, he created a solution. *To you house buyer. Thank you sir!* If the realtor found the cost too much, he would have most likely lost a sale, or if the realtor didn't curve his thinking to be aggressively progressive, than the buyer would have been upset and potentially lost a dream home. The Videographer was just some punk kid working for T.V stations filming skate videos at a elementary school when approached by a guy "ProAgressive Realtor" picking up his son after school. He asked how much I would charge to take my "fancy" camera and film a property. That punk kid made his first $100. The rest is history as they say.
Heck, in 1999 - I watched a movie called, "The Other Sister," and I saw something that caught my eye. Take a look at the picture.
It's since been nearing 20 years, and Colorado and Maine and yet to catch up to this technology, even with all the advancements in media readiness.
So are you a Slow to turn Titanic Realtor, or are you a grab the bull by the horns, and want to ABC? (for your movies buffs out there). Always Be Closing. Give us a call. Horrible iPhone images and videos don't cut it for clients. But we cut the time a listing is on the market.
