#3: Innovate or Die!

Moving to South Portland Maine wasn't an easy thing. It actually took months and a lot of money. Usually that's where people would stop, but the reality of it is that it is emotionally draining. Not just the drive, but the finding a short term place to rent, buying a house, setting up the a business here ("gots to keep it legal"), the sleep deprivation, the driving 32 hours straight (seriously, no sleep, only gas stops), the tourist stuff, etc etc.  Maine wasn't a "have to" move. It was a dream and desire and calling over the past 8 years. A place to slow down from my Los Angeles / Orange  County upbringing. I see potential in the senior photography market here in portland and south portland. 

#2: Something old, Something new.

The old something new old something new will NEVER be with Portland High School or South Portland High School. We are getting more and more edgy. We are getting defined and stylish. I was always into fashion, but only 10 years ago in high school there was an instant stereotype there, and I couldn't let me flag fly. I was a straight metrosexual who loved shopping and shoes as much as I love the girls, skating and surfing. It was a very hard line to walk. Now you have so many guys taking care of themselves, raising the standards to personal hygiene as much as style. That's myself. There is no need to be still watered like a lake. I want to be fresh and vibrant, and smell good... sorry stinky lakes.. but you stink and we need to clean you out!

Portland is changing, South Portland will Urbanize in 3-5 years. Those "From Away" will be more prevalent than natives. It's not my desire, but it's just standard growth. Now that I am here, let's keep Portland Maine a secret! I love my fellow photographer!!!! We are all Artists who create our own unique art. Two photographers can shoot the same location and you'll see completely different images! I want to change the artist community to a friendly one and competitive for the market on an even price average. I want to drink coffee with photographers and my clients alike! I want all Photographers to speak well of each other, because it just messes with our senior photography industry. Senior Photography is changing. In a better direction and more exciting one at that!
