Not my usual style of blog titles, but I like it. I've been working really hard 15-18 hours a day for the past 1.5 years. It's not like I had a sudden epiphany that, OMG I have bills, and that requires hustle, then clients, then completing work. In fact, I started my first company at 13 years old back in Los Angeles. You see my "uncle" who I guess was actually my cousin by marriage used to take advantage of my love for working. He used to make me a great offer. I could get to work with him as a laborer for this Landscaping company on the weekends. In return I would be paid. So for about 1 year (or so) I would go out for about 8-10 hours and would mow, weed, bag, edge, and and and and. My uncle paid me $5 and a gatorade. I was sure living the high life at 11 and 12. So much money and my thirst was quenched.
After that I realized that I could cut the middle man out, and so I started my landscaping company in my own territory my freshman year (13 years old) of high school. After a couple weeks I decided that clients wanted something different, they knew tons of landscapers, but what they would ask me, "what do you offer that is different from my current guys?" I would look around and see that the hedges were trimmed, and the lawn was cut and green, but I would see crappy plants, awkward trees, and that became my hook, and the birth of my Landscaping Design Company.
My business now runs not the same principle now. Thanks to my Uncle I realized that I don't mind working hard and that I didn't mind thinking outside the box.
